We were looking for a thinner memory foam topper that wouldn't fall apart or tear. Our bed already has a thick memory foam base, but it has thick material and we don't like it. The 1.5 inch memory foam overlay is just the right thickness to add the comfort feel we needed. After opening the package, the foam looked ready in 15 minutes, but we let it sit for an hour just to be safe. No unpleasant odors even on first use. open as far as I understand We are very happy with it!
