Review on ๐Ÿ”ค Rii Wireless Keyboard with Touchpad & QWERTY for Raspberry: Optimal Input Solution by Briceston Criss

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great product, works perfectly out of the box on OS X.

Once you open the box, the Rii i8 feels well made and solid, or at least as solid as you'd expect from a TV remote, and the box even has a certificate of authenticity on the box to discourage piracy impede. I'm assuming someone is making cheap copies that are very similar to each other so look for the seal on the box, it looks almost like the one that comes with the software where the serial number is listed. This product worked great on both my Mac Mini (Late 2007) and iMac (21.5 Mid 2012) with no discs or settings to install. You can just plug the receiver into a USB port and even enter your passcode when your Mac has been asleep. Many other wireless keyboard reviews complain that you need the wired keyboard to wake up the computer and enter the password before the wireless keyboard can be used. This is not the case here, you can connect them when the computer is on or in sleep mode. Previous reviews also point to a lack of range on this keyboard, with some pointing out that using a USB (male to female) USB extension cable can easily fix the problem. Apparently the manufacturer read the comments as my remote came with an external battery charger which is also an extension cord like Y if you plug the USB port into the back of the computer then plug the receiver into the USB port. end, and if your remote needs charging, use the other outlet to charge it. So at least in my experience there isn't a range issue, right now the keyboard is controlling my Mac Mini which is connected to my TV and I'm sitting about 10 feet away and the remote works fine at that distance. The best wireless mini keyboard I've ever tried and I would definitely recommend it to my friends or anyone who needs to control any type of media center as it makes watching movies from my PC on my TV so easy , how it should be. that Mac OS X tells you the keyboard isn't supported even if every single key works, including the volume and play buttons, but OS X doesn't even let you customize it since it only has a Shift key on the left and no key to the right , and OS X prompts you to press the key to the left of the right Shift key to customize the keyboard, but the keyboard still works, as does the mouse (trackpad). It allowed me to control other devices, not just PCs. But in this price range I can't complain. All in all a great product and I would buy it again and recommend it to anyone.
