Review on Broan SP3004 Backsplash 30 Inch Stainless by Craig Walters

Temporary back panel that does the job

After buying a new appliance, the oven we chose didn't have a back panel. Since we will be laying tiles at some point, we decided on the stove apron. It actually turned out to be thicker than I thought after reading some of the reviews. I have to agree with other reviewers that there should have been screws. I had no problems with bent corners or scratches. It was packed like a picture. I went and bought some drywall anchors and screws (#10 or 3/16"). After just removing the corners of the protective sheet, I placed it where I wanted it and with the help of another person marked the screw holes. I have to say it would have been a lot easier to do this BEFORE installing the stove, however I had to pull the stove out because the skirt was sticking out from under the back of the stove, I ran into the problem of setting it as high as possible huh made it difficult to drill and then screw in (drilling play) Initially I left the screws slightly loose so I had some wiggle room when installing the screws (a two person job unless you're applying some kind of glue) Unless you are below eye level of the microwave you can't even see the screws After I tightened all the screws I removed the protective film If you are just using glue den, I would make sure you hold it tight as the skirt will flex when you remove the foil. If I hadn't used wall anchors I would have seen it break out of the wall. In general, the installation did not take much time. I like the finished look as it blends in with other devices.
