These mounts are small and attractive. When not in use, the mount looks like an original car/truck part and takes up very little space. I attached my magnetic plate to the outside of my case (shown) but this gave me a very strong connection and there is no chance of my phone falling off the mount no matter what the road conditions are. Very happy with this purchase and cheaper than some of the competing products. Small, sharp, super strong magnet connection.
