You can code in C++, Python or Fortran 90/95 using all of their powerful libraries like openCV for image processing. The compiler is relatively easy once you figure out how it works (the docs are not very helpful). All three languages have quirks so if your looking at learning one language then stick with python as its more straight forward than cpp which takes some time getting used too! I am solving hard problems such as machine vision where we need massive amounts of data quickly solved by my team members who write these programs while i supervise them remotely from home office via VNC connection over slow internet connections. The most helpful feature is the ability to run multiple instances of the program at the same time, which allows for rapid testing and debugging. I also like how easy it is to install and use. I dislike the fact that the documentation could be better. There are some things that are not clear or explained well in the user guide. I have used this software for both the Android and iOS versions of my app. It has been very useful for me in terms of solving problems as they arise during development.
