I have had my old VitaMix for over 25 years and am very happy with it. and it still worked. but the potentiometer (speed controller) did not work. I found a new one for a good price, but it was still $430. Then I saw that the potentiometer was only $27 so I bought it thinking it was worth a try to see if I could fix it. I was able to replace it in 20 minutes and now it works like new! Now I have TWO VitaMix blenders! Wonderful. the best blender in the world and they seem to last forever. I still love my shiny new VitaMix, but for $27 you buy a potentiometer and keep your old one! It's easy to install. Now let's cook daiquiri and margarita at the same time!
