Review on πŸ”οΈ Mountain 16250 1/2-inch Drive Torque Wrench - 25-250 ft/lbs: Choose Your Style with Varying Case Colors by James Cypert

Revainrating 5 out of 5

What a great instrument you have.

I bought this torque wrench to replace my master's broken torque wrench. I read the reviews and some commented that this wrench is big and heavy. You're not kidding, it's a long, heavy key. But the weight and length speak to the operator when tightening a large nut. I found it easy to tighten the lug nuts on my machine to the required 100 ft/lbs of torque. It was so easy that I was able to tighten and tighten the jam nut right after it clicked. I have never tightened anything over 100 ft/lbs. Weight can be an issue when the user is working on something overhead. The length is an issue as the user works in tight spaces. As for the accuracy of the wrench I don't know, it's accurate enough for my use. My only complaint is that the torque scale doesn't line up perfectly with the pointer and the torque adjustment stop screw sometimes loosens. For the price, I'll accept a few issues. Pros: Loud clicking when reaching torque, tool length, ratchet works well, tool weight, good chrome plating. Cons: Weight, length, torque scale doesn't match perfectly, scale numbers are hard to see with old eyes, lock nut loose. If the numbers on the dial were easier to read they would match the pointer and if the clasp stayed tight I would give this tool 5 stars. With his problems I give him a solid 4 stars.
