My wife and I tried it and it worked fine for us. I found I couldn't throw snow as far as I could without it, but age might solve this trick in a few years. Although not a bad invention. The construction is good and I added screws to both ends to make sure it stayed in place - after being sure where I wanted it on the handle. This makes it difficult to hang a set of shovels on a garage hook, so I wish there was a way to take it apart without undoing the screws on the red part. It would be nice to have some sort of twist lock on the black handle for the red part, especially when you have to dig in tight spaces like between a garage and a fence or between cars.
