So far so good the best in starters and alternators

Bought and installed this starter in early November. Two months later, my 2005 Element never hesitated or refused a single launch. In my opinion this starter is every bit as good as the factory original but several times cheaper (and here a lot cheaper than what was taken at my local auto parts stores). As everyone has warned me about this repair, replacing the starter motor on the Element is a real but doable job. I would recommend watching some youtube videos of this particular repair job first and gathering all the necessary tools beforehand (the videos will show you which tools/measurements are best) including a special pair of pliers for removing the undercarriage cover. Then watch one of the videos while renovating and take your time. The two biggest challenges were loosening the stubborn screw and blindly re-inserting the rear screw with your fingertips (keep trying on that screw and you'll eventually find that it fits the hole/thread). This job saved me about $850 at the shop and took about 6 man-hours (maybe I did it faster, but I purposely tried to take it slow since I've never done this repair before). By the way, I replaced the starter with the "bottom of the car" approach. In general, a great start, I recommend it to everyone.
