Installed on a 2003 Honda Accord

Installed on a 2003 Honda Accord, 4 cylinder. Direct OEM match. As others have commented, listed as new but box is marked as refurbished. There's really no difference as all the guts are new so don't worry about recreating. FYI for anyone doing this repair, the Accord intake manifold has a bi-metal gasket which is usually reusable and will provide a good seal. It does not need to be replaced unless you accidentally damage/bend it. It sticks tight to the manifold, just leave it there. Or, if…

Perfect for 2003 Honda Element

Perfect for my 2003 Honda Element. This is a common problem. So if you have trouble starting, just buy a new starter. If you are replacing the starter I would recommend getting a new knock sensor as the knock sensor costs around $20. Because where your starter is, you have to remove the valve cover to get to it. The knock sensor is right next to it. So just replace it while you're at it, because if a sensor doesn't fail later, you'll end up spending the same amount of money on the labor. Only…

So far, so good! The Best in Starters

It doesn't matter if you have a new starter! My old one was slow and drained my battery, this one is working very well so far. Great value for money. The only thing I'm afraid of is how many years I'll get out of this. Installation: I gave it three stars, not because of the product, it's not their fault! Honda/Acura placed the starter motor in a tight space, requiring the intake manifold and other surrounding parts to be disassembled. I've replaced starters on other cars where you just unscrew…

Item starts like new again

If you have a Honda that uses this type of starter and it sounds like your battery is dead when you start the engine, you may need to replace the starter. This was an issue with our Honda Element. The cost of shipping it to the dealer to get the job done as it was still under warranty was beyond our budget. So check your local auto parts stores and find a starter that costs in the $300 range. I was looking online for a repair manual to help replace this starter when I saw that Revain had this…

Take your time, stay calm, balanced and patient.

DB works great! Installs into '04 Element in about four hours. The biggest difficulty was the shoulder on the big starting bolt. It's tight, get a long ratchet, breaker, or pipe. Also, you have a blind grip on the lower distributor screw and it may be covered in rust. Get a small ratchet for the bottom manifold screw. If you remove the manifold completely, one of the ports will be bi @ # $, but you will elevate your arm a bit. The starter action is slightly different from the OEM but worth a…

Great budget replacement!

Replaced a failed starter motor in a 2003 Honda Accord. Installation wasn't the easiest, but that's not the product's fault. See YouTube for instructions. There are several methods, but I used one that only involved removing the intake manifold (not the breather tubes, throttle body, etc.). It went fairly smoothly, but the bottom screw was difficult to remove and reinstall due to limited play. I suggest putting some WD-40 or penetrating oil on the threads before reinstalling as corrosion will…

So far so good the best in starters and alternators

Bought and installed this starter in early November. Two months later, my 2005 Element never hesitated or refused a single launch. In my opinion this starter is every bit as good as the factory original but several times cheaper (and here a lot cheaper than what was taken at my local auto parts stores). As everyone has warned me about this repair, replacing the starter motor on the Element is a real but doable job. I would recommend watching some youtube videos of this particular repair job…
