Restore the original if you can, but it will work.
I give it 3 starts simply because all aftermarket starters suck including this one. For the first 3 skis on the lake I didn't want to turn it off because I wasn't sure if it would start again, now it seems to start every time but not as much as it should. If you have the original starter, rebuild it, don't replace it.
