Review on πŸ“Ά PumpSpy PS2000: WiFi Battery Backup Sump Pump System with Internet Monitoring, Alerts, and Enhanced SEO by Mike Wachtel

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great device, app needs improvement.

Ordered PumpSpy to back up my original pump. It was installed by a plumber along with a Y-pipe. It took about an hour and fifteen minutes and the device was ready to use. All the lights on the front were green except for the main pump and wifi. After reading the manual I found that the main pump was not connected to the back of the PumpSpy. The plumber didn't understand. So if you have one installed, make sure it understands that. The reason the device gets 4 stars is because of the app and the frustration of getting it online. In a perfect world, you would open the app, find the PumpSpy network, and that's it. Unfortunately in my case I had to use the manual method, enter a web address, find my 15 digit number and go that route. If you're not a techie, you'll be even more disappointed. I would like to point out that the installation has absolutely nothing to do with my network. It was an app and device issue. Once the WiFi was set up, everything was set up in the app. The app ultimately makes it 4 stars. Quality product, bad app. There is no confirmation for adding a pump, the home button does not open the main page, the application does not save the login and some other things. I think the login issue is the biggest. So remember that every time you start the application you will have to enter your username and password. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. I don't know how it isn't fixed. The data the app provides is very helpful, as are the alerts. I would recommend this product despite the app's shortcomings which will hopefully improve over time. I expect a reliable app for a $500 pump. With app improvements and an easier Wi-Fi setup, this is 5 stars.
