It's very heavy and pretty much stays where you put it. The up/down setting is good but not easy to change. Due to the weight, it is difficult to hold the shelf so that it does not fall, use one hand to pull out the locking handle, and then use the other two hands to hold the laptop to prevent it from falling. and then ask someone to raise or lower the shelf. Pooh! Unfortunately, there is no tilt adjustment. And there is no stop at the front of the shelf. Flat on it. You can put a sloping laptop stand on it, but it will slide, so you'll need to add some padding. Then you need to move the laptop to adjust the shelf. It works and can work very well with some modifications.
