Bullshit - believe the negative reviews!

I usually discard negative reviews as part of the cost of selling to millions of people, there are inevitably dissatisfied customers. In this case, however, these connectors are really rubbish. Not only do plugs break easily, but the socket actually destroys every plug you insert. My brass connectors, which I had used forever, were also destroyed with these quick couplings. I haven't tried steel because I don't have them anymore. Definitely don't buy them if you need more than a few hours of use. Complete garbage!
