My hobby started with Squadron sharpening rods. Feels like the granularity is more medium and fine. I've been using Vallejo flexible sanders recently and the grit doesn't suit me. The 1000 grit Vallejo grinders are much finer than the Tamiya 1500 grit sponge, which doesn't make sense to me, but you can still use them. Unfortunately I probably won't buy again because they are too coarse to finish. Looks like I'll continue to graduate with Extra Fine Squadron clubs and Vallejo sponges.
