What can I say? I've been craving waffles and have been watching a variety of waffle makers at our local stores for a while. Bought because of the many positive reviews and the price. In a hurry I chose this one thinking it was a Belgian waffle maker. It is not. Guilty. But my god. These waffles are the perfect size. Belgian waffles tend to be obscenely large. However, they offer a wonderful balance. Following the waffle maker instructions and Aunt Jemima's easy waffle maker recipe, my first batch was ridiculously good. Each waffle should be made with about 3/4 cup waffle batter to a maximum of 1 cup. So far you can trust my experience with indicator lights. I used canola oil and brushed it directly onto the waffle iron and they cook perfectly evenly with no sticking or burning. I don't see any technical flaws with the stylus as some others have suggested. This is seriously not a complicated device. Buy this waffle maker! You will love it. Just follow the instructions.1. No sprays, use oil and a brush. trust me.2. Play with the proportions of the batter to get a perfectly finished waffle with no rough edges. This is about 3/4 to 7/8 cup of batter.3. The indicator light seems very accurate as to how full the waffle is. I give it about 15 seconds more for better texture. Enjoy!
