Review on Tekonsha 7686 Prodigy Control Mounting by Tom Motko

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It doesn't look like this is a problem - it seems P3.

As stated. The P3 will not fit in this mounting case without a minor modification to the case itself. There is a small plastic "step" on the back of the case to make room for the connector cable plug for any device housed in this case must become. But that's not enough for P3 - its plug is shifted to one side (on the wrong side), and after connecting the connection cable, P3 doesn't slide completely into the pocket. You will need to cut a piece of plastic about 1 x 1/4 inch from the back to make room for the connection cable and its connector. I used a utility knife with a sharp blade and removed the material piece by piece, taking about 10 minutes to remove enough to ensure proper spacing. Also, the two clips on either side of the mounting pocket don't line up with the two holes on either side of the P3 - not even close. It doesn't look like this would be an issue - the P3 seems to be held fairly securely in the pocket by friction alone. I'm going to mount mine with the P3 up so gravity alone will do for me. This case is way better than any mounts that came with the P3 in my opinion, if only for the reason that it has a roughly 3" x 2.75" flat surface that I'll try on to use the sticky back . Velcro for attachment to the car. I really don't want to put any screw holes in my nice new car if I can avoid it. The time will show. I would give it 5 stars but subtract one because Tekonsha doesn't offer a mount that fits the P3 exactly.
