First, the foil cutter works perfectly. But the first time I used the opener, it failed. No matter what I tried, the cork wouldn't budge and I had to go back to the screw opener (which made a mess, but that's another story). I decided to try again next week and it was great! The plug started to move away on the first pump. In hindsight I think the cork on the first bottle was a bit longer than the needle so the pump didn't pressurize the bottle and the air escaped through the hole the needle made. On the second bottle, the needle protruded about 1 mm from the bottom of the cork. Since then I've only found one brand of wine that doesn't open; This works on all other bottles I've tried.
