I bought this based on some other customer reviews and how well it holds the phones. My review is based on the LG G2 with a Ford Edge flip case and air vent. The packaging is quite small as the device is really just a clip and a vent hook. As for the crowd, there is none. It can be thrown in a glove box, travel trunk, center console, etc. with ease. This is a plus compared to some of the larger/bulky phone mounts. The clip that holds the phone in place is solid. Not "oh my god who made that thing" tight, but tight enough that I don't have to worry about my phone falling out. I place it vertically since my phone's screen is polarized, as are my sunglasses, so I couldn't see my phone for navigation while driving (this should be taken into account if you're looking to buy a horizontal phone stand - wear sunglasses). , hold your phone horizontally and see if you can see anything). The ventilation hook is also well made. It's small, slides easily over my Ford Edge's air vents, and doesn't seem to break easily. The only issue I have with this unit (or Ford, depending on how you look at it) is that the unit + phone weigh so much that the vent flips up. This is an annoying aspect of this unit/Ford and using the air vent stand. I've finally found a stand and alignment that works well enough to keep sagging at the vents to a minimum. On a positive note, it never fell out of the vent and the phone never fell off the stand. All in all, this is a well-made device. The clip is solid, the vents are well designed, and while the center spring case is a bit oversized, it helps stabilize the phone in my Ford Edge's vents. If I had to do it again I would probably try the CD version of this unit to see if it works better. I don't use my CD player anyway, so it's probably the best option, at least for this type of car. Another thing I noticed is that the phone gets cold after a long drive with the AC on (I know, an obvious statement since it's plugged into an air vent). I'm pretty sure this won't do anything bad to the phone, but wanted to point that out.
