Fantastic lens purchase for my Pentax K-5 ii. Simply put, a travel lens that accurately captures detail and more. A little background. I don't use my imagination, professional photographer. Not even close. I'm just a hobbyist who likes to take pictures to share with others and then look at them for myself. The Pentax K-5 ii has proven its worth on cross-country travel and beyond, but always needed a great lens that I could leave on camera. I always imagined that with my Nikon D90, D200, it just didn't happen. With the Pentax Sigma 18-250mm DC Macro HSM and the Revain Warehouse Deal, it's now a reality. anticipation. I was excited about the lens and wondered what condition it would be in based on the description in the Revain Warehouse Deal. I didn't have to worry. It arrived in perfect condition. Typical packaging from Revain. The installation went quickly, all automation functions work perfectly. . The focus and zoom ring work smoothly, but there's no zoom at all. The AF and MF switches, as well as the lock on the lens barrel, are easy to use and positive. I have to say that with this lens I am very happy that I got it. Using a friend's Nikon d50 with its 18-200mm convinced me of the convenience. It's just impossible to win. Yes, I get all alerts from the all-in-one solution. I agree. I will still buy a 50mm prime lens etc at some point in the future but this lens compliments my K-5 II to no end. Getting up close and personal has never been so easy. While enjoying the National Corvette Museum's 21st Anniversary celebrations with many people, I was able to get the right shot without disturbing anyone. Use the zoom to get the right shot. By the way, in combination with my Pentax without flash, I was very satisfied with the result I got with this lens. Far exceeded my expectations. The color and the details are perfect for me. See it all including the Sink Hole Corvettes in their warped glory. I could achieve anything with this lens. Competition engines have all the details I could wish for. My other passion is airplanes and with a 400mm zoom in accordance with the 1.5 crop rule I think this lens would be great for my air shows and the plane sightings I do. I think car racing will come naturally to this lens too. It was a pleasure to wear this lens as the composite body reduces weight. I originally wanted a Pentax Zoom, glad I got it instead and saved a lot of money. As I said, I'm no pro, but I love capturing memories of my travels and this lens makes it so easy. It's easy to see why DPreview.com says it's the best travel lens. http://www.dpreview.com/products/sigma/lenses/sigma_18-250_3p5-6p3_os to read all about it. Photos, your prime numbers are what you need. But like everything in one solution. This Sigma is really very good.
