If you don't want to buy a new grinder then you really have no choice but to buy this pad. My original sanding pads held the velcro sandpaper discs well. Too cool actually because the hook part of the pillow will come off along with the sandpaper after a couple of weeks and once that starts the pillow is done. However, I ordered this replacement pad last December and have had nothing but headaches ever since. You must be very careful when starting and stopping the grinder. I've never had anything like that with original pads. If you're not extra careful, even a new disc of sandpaper can fly off, and once it does, the disc is done and you can't put it back on. Don't be surprised if you ruin a lot of discs in a short time. I just keep them in the garbage heap and use them to hand sand hard-to-reach places. I will look for another alternative. Sander is great. The new and "improved" Velcro pad just doesn't live up to expectations.
