They work great when you need to connect to non-POE cameras or any two devices.
I used it to connect two cameras to a Category 6 cable. Of course you cannot use POE if they are used for this purpose. I know I could save money by splitting the cable myself, but it looks cleaner (no loose wires). So I gave it up because of the value for money because honestly I could do without it and save my money, but overall I gave it 5 stars for its cleanliness and ease of installation and it works great. Note that these are two 100Mbps connections, not 1000Mbps, as you need all 8 wires to run at 1000Mbps.
- The adapter separates the originally installed Ethernet cables (8 pins) into two groups (1236/4578). The two groups each transfer data with a purely physical connection that does not have the function of assigning IP addresses.
