This is a good choice if you want to maintain straight paint lines. If put on carefully, the paint will not go under the tape, and paint does not bleed through. I would have liked to have this tape during the 17 years that I lived aboard a cruising sailboat in the Caribbean and painted the bottom annually, as well as when raising the waterline on occasion.The 2" width is a plus, especially when painting with a roller, as I was when doing the bottom. You can right up and a bit over the edge to help make sure the line is perfectly straight, something that I couldn't due when using 3/4" and 1" masking tape in the past for fear of getting some spatter on the other side.The big benefit for anyone painting a boat's bottom or doing anything else outdoors is that this tape is protected against UV rays. With many tapes when used outdoors you must remove them almost immediately or they will be baked on by the sun and be very hard, very messy to remove. However, this tape can be removed cleanly anytime within 14 days, according to the manufacturer.
