I am a woodworker and I like to include a piece of wood which is branded (using a hot iron with a brass label) stating that the item was hand made by me. These are perfect for that use as they are a soft pine that is easily heat branded. Contrary to what one reviewer stated, these are not rosewood but pine, so there are no dangerous fumes generated by heat stamping. And because they are round, there is no need to rigorously orient the stamp rotationally. I also appreciate the fact that these have a small hole drilled for the cord.These look real because they are real. All of mine had beautiful bark on the outside and a nice ring structure on the inside. They are cut perfectly with flat faces on both sides so they could be painted with good results. And the price is roughly half of what they cost in our local hobby stores. The quality is better as well.
