Poor barcode scanner performance

Scanners are very useful. Nowadays, every smartphone can do this, but dedicated handheld scanners are still better suited for many functions such as inventory and product identification. I mainly use it to scan the 3D printer's filaments, which then determines the correct filament type for temperature and other settings. This scanner can scan all common types of 2D and 3D barcodes, small and large. It could also be read from an LCD screen as well as through transparent plastic. Unfortunately, he was very slow to read at times, and it doesn't help that it's hard to see where he's aiming. The normal red ray is only visible for a short time and is quite weak. This is especially a problem when multiple codes are close together and you can't tell which one is being read. The functions are good. It can add prefixes and suffixes, manage beeps, and basically all common functions. It works both wired and wireless. Charging is done via the included USB to micro USB cable. The wireless USB adapter can be stored at the base of the handle. Unfortunately, the dongle is not marked at all and can easily be confused with other unmarked USB dongles. It has a range of about 10 meters, but you can take it offline, which saves any codes to reset it to. PC when you return to it. So range is not a problem. The desktop stand is easy to assemble in a minute or two with a screwdriver. This is useful for continuous or automatic scanning when the trigger does not need to be touched. It seems the opposite to me, but the continuous mode recognizes a barcode as it comes into view and scans each time until another comes up. The auto-detect mode stays on all the time and can read the same code multiple times while it's visible, which isn't good. These modes must be activated by scanning an online PDF file. The supplied manual must be old as it mentions Windows XP, CE, 7 and 8. This scanner model is not mentioned on the website and you must use the other model codes. Fortunately, the codes appear to be universal. Overall, I'm not happy with the price they charge. This is an entry-level model, but could then be a bit cheaper. Suitable for infrequent use and you have time to find the right documentation.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
