Review on TUOPUKE Press Hydraulic Pressure Plates by Wendy Rodriguez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Robust press with easy-to-learn user interface

This review is for Tuopuke's 8-ton mini hydraulic heat press. It has 2.5 x 5 inch panels. I don't normally mention how the product arrived but this one came in a plywood frame which really helped protect it on its way to me which is much appreciated. Of course it comes with the device itself, a 5ml silicone jar and it appears to be well made and looks very durable. They've taken the time to hide all the internal details with various metal plates and handles, which is nice to see. Assembling the device was very easy as it comes almost ready to use. All you have to do is attach the jack handle and legs and you're done. The plates seem to me to be even and rustle evenly. The only thing missing here are some nylon filter bags to slide your stuff in. Use 90-160 micron food grade nylon bags if you suspect you are using a flower. You can also use a pre-press mold, but this is not necessary. Some people swear by it while others refuse to use it. You can also grab some magnets to hold the paper to the machine I think, but you probably already have them. use them It's easy to use. Set the temperature to what you set for your particular material, usually between 180 and 210°F, then place your bag of material between the folded parchment paper and start pressing on it. It doesn't take long to get the end result, about a minute or two depending on the pressure and temperature. Higher temperatures usually take less time. Once that's done, release it with the button on the front. Warranty. It's not directly mentioned in the listing, but if you look at the manufacturer's websites it does, and I'll list it here below. Not a bad guarantee to be honest. They guarantee the serviceability of heating plates and thick metal parts for 5 years, which is logical since nothing can go wrong with large pieces of metal. - 1 year for the whole machine - 5 years for flat heating plates - 5 years for casting and welding. Parts - 1 year on heating elements Cups, plates and lids - Lifetime tech support Overall this seems like a good unit. Not sure about the durability here but it seems solid and well made. The only things that can really fail are the plates or the bottle jack and they can eventually be replaced.

Pros
  • Put the material in a file bag or oil paper under the plates
Cons
  • I don't remember
