I've used vinyl my whole life and even bought them before they did were back in fashion. I'm talking about starting collecting a collection in the mid to late 90's. I've always been fascinated by my parents' collection, which led to them taking care of not only vinyl record storage but also various players. As such, I'm a good source of commentary on good phono stage sound, having been exposed to turntables and equipment for about thirty years. I am very happy that I have this small and very handy amplifier that specializes in playing vinyl records. What makes this unit modern are the 3.5mm mini-jack inputs on the back, so you can add modern signals and effects to the mix if you want. These 3.5 ports can also act independently and simply show what is being projected there. I cannot stress enough the sound quality benefits of using an amplifier designed to process the stylus's magnetic signals for perfect synchronization with a clear sound presentation. . Of course, I use my own terminology and am not interested in jargon related to phonetic terms. I base my audition tape on amateur descriptions of what I hear. The main purpose of this amp is to give the listener a sense of buzz and excess feedback and this cute little Maker Hart brand amp is my favorite. I like an affordable ground screw with a thick, flat head that's large enough. Keep the ground wire from the turntable in place. I always joke that this mixer area isn't big enough to hold the player and now I finally have a design that logically fits my design. This amp is really made especially for me. I like the front EQ control which makes it easy and works very well. When recording, the Mid, High, and Low controls essentially mimic the same basic controls that would be found on a mixing board. I recently had a turntable that I simply plugged in and hooked up to a brand name 2 channel mixer and the controls available didn't even come close to balancing the sound the way this amp did. This device is small and not too heavy, which is great for easy placement with other devices. In conclusion, I am very happy with it and would recommend it to vinyl lovers.
