The Just Amp 5 is the kind of product you can take to work, leave on your desk and not worry if it gets stolen. It works and pairs well with an inexpensive Massdrop turntable for listening to vinyl at work, but the sound and volume it produces is just average. When I first received this product I was a bit confused. Admittedly, I usually only have experience with home audio for listening purposes and have never done any mixing or anything like that. When this amp arrived I pulled it out and assumed it was just a preamp as there were no speaker jacks. After a bit of research, I found that the RCA outputs are actually active outputs. You use the included RCA to bare cables to power your speakers. You CANNOT use the RCA connectors as the main RCA output

When testing this unit, we noticed noise in the headphone input at high volume, with no music playing through quality headphones, only hissing. I also moved the power supply further away from the device and it made no difference. The little noise isn't a hum, it's a faint white noise, and all connections are tight and secure.
