Review on ๐Ÿพ Extra Wide Pet Gear Easy Step II by Sara Reyes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal for large breed dogs, it doesn't take up space and is lightweight.

I've been waiting to write this review for more than a month. After researching ramps and steps I took a chance on buying the Pet Gear Easy Step II Extra Wide in hopes my dog would be comfortable with it. Features include a large breed dog, a 9 month old 112 lb Irish Wolfhound puppy and a BMW X5. We stopped putting the puppy in the passenger seat at 6 months. She got too heavy. However, we didn't want her to pop out on her own as she's over 3ft tall and delicate growing joints can suffer from constant bumping. Also, being older, I didn't want something heavy to rise and expand every time we use it. The ramps also seemed to require extra space on the side of the car, which was an issue in the tight parking spaces at our dog park. The result is that this product exceeds our expectations. The dog immediately used the stairs only to get in the car. It took about a week for her to be able to walk comfortably unaided. First I had to "guide" her to use the step to go outside. However, there is no longer a need to climb from our side. Best of all, she's strong. Our dog will eventually reach 150+/-lbs and the ladder will accommodate him easily. . And they fit on the side of the car in a regular parking space. No additional space is required as with a ramp. And it's so light I can lift it into place and stow it in the back of the car with one hand while holding the dog on a leash with the other.
