There are 4 possibilities: I have ghosts, this thing is possessed, it's just set to random, or a combination of the three I've tried using it with lights that I on the stairs to the basement, and it kept turning on at random times along with the appropriate movement. Also, it stayed on for more than a minute when it actually turned on. In my case it didn't work as advertised so I got one of those motion detector sockets. In the same place, it works as expected, only illuminating the stairs when someone approaches them. I assume it might work better in a safe, closet or whatever.
