I've had no problems with cloudy water. Not sure if I'm having any luck, but I bought 3 bags (but only used 2) in a 29 gallon tank. If it helps anyone, I worked with one pocket at a time and did the following: 1) Drill 2 dozen 3/16" holes in an area of the lid, mostly near the edge. (Any size smaller than most fluorites. Also, more holes would probably make it faster, and fewer might not be a problem. I just drilled holes until I felt I had enough.) 2) I have Pour 2 gallons of tap water into a clean 5 gallon bucket and pour out 1 packet of fluorite. 3) Put the lid on and make sure it is well closed. ; I rocked the bucket back and forth 4) Gently pour out the water. It helps to remove the lid and slowly pour it over the lid so it can drain through the holes onto the bottom. I liked to pour it over the lid so I wouldn't lose it if I accidentally spilled it, luckily I didn't. 5) Add 2 gallons of water and repeat steps 3-4 until relatively clear. it only lasted 4 washes. 6) Fluorite will still be wet. Pour it into the tank where you will use it. Then spread evenly with your hands, brush or spatula. It doesn't have to be perfect as it will most likely shift when water is added. 7) To add water, I filled a 5 gallon bucket half full with tap water from the tub. When that was done I put another bucket out to fill it and I went to fill the tank myself. 8) I placed a clean dog bowl upside down in the aquarium and slowly poured water into the dog bowl. 9) I have a bucket. who filled the tub, leaving the first bucket to fill while I poured the second bucket into the tank with a dog ball as described in step 8. I repeated this until the tank was full. about 2 hours. I hope this helped someone! I hope to update it after planting the aquarium and seeing it grow.
