Revainrating 5 out of 5

Top quality stone for less than $40 per stone. This set should cost twice as much as the quality.

The stones are oversized which is very handy and the set comes with three stones that everyone needs for a basic set plus a stone to level out the grooves in the whetstones. Coarse for a damaged blade, medium for general sharpening, and a fine stone for finishing. I haven't had any problems with rock slides since I have some gear. Each brick has a rubber pad that secures it to the wooden base and the base has a rubber mat on the bottom to keep it from moving too much. This is my first experience in the stone cutting world. I watched some tutorial videos on youtube and this product was specifically compared to the more expensive glass based stone (high quality industry standard) which is 5 times the price. This product has proven to be quite comparable if not as good as the most expensive stone on the market as expected but does not fall far short in quality. For a beginner like me or someone on a budget this proves how good this stone is and that it is a good stone for those who want a functionally sharp kitchen knife. I was able to sharpen my knives (one of which had a blunt point like a table knife) to razor sharpness, and I was able to cut through a piece of paper with just the weight of the knife fairly easily when I was done. My knives cut like new (quality Wustoff knives that are 10 years old) and I was able to learn the basics very quickly after watching YouTube for an hour and practicing with my cheapest knife. I am very satisfied with this product. For the record, I cook from scratch an average of 4 days a week, so I'm constantly chopping and I know what a good knife must feel like when it cuts through.
