Installed for a 2005 PT Cruiser customer 2.4L I4 @ 180,000 miles with check engine light due to rough idle / accidental misfires / poor performance. Another mechanic misdiagnosed a fuel pump malfunction which is a very expensive and unnecessary repair (noting here in case others get the same misdiagnosis). Camshaft position sensor failure is characterized by very rough idling, an inability to exceed 2500 rpm, and general poor condition. Productivity or "sluggish home mode". Some will say only use a genuine Mopar cam sensor as the aftermarket will not work. A comment that is completely unknown in the automotive supply chain. Thing is, Mopar/Chrysler/FCA etc. don't make any of them. As you might have guessed, they are all made by different manufacturers; Aftermarket Vendor. In any case, you can use them without fear. If that doesn't solve your problem, then most likely something else is defective or malfunctioning. Small note: while you're at it, replace the PCV valve and repair the PCV hose that's probably cracked and leaking oil just above the camshaft position sensor connector. It can also lead to premature sensor failure, so take care of preventive maintenance. Hope that helps.
