I know there is a lot of controversy about using salt in freshwater but I really like it. My betta has been ill (lethargic, not eating, not swimming) for the past 2 weeks. I have a 2.5 liter tank. I put in slightly less than the recommended amount (2 gallons of salt). That same night my fish became more active and swam to feed. He is eating and has become more active since I added the salt 3 days ago. He still has something with his eyes so I ordered a cure for it but the salt really helped his appetite and he got better. If you have sick fish I would definitely recommend this. It won't cure your fish, but it made me feel great. It's definitely worth a try.
