Love this tester! I'm an installer for a low voltage company, my techs use this thing all the time to test customers' HDMI cables when they're having problems. You connect one end of the HDMI cable to the main unit/larger device and the other end can be connected to either the remote control or the main unit. That's good as my old tester could only use the remote, which is frustrating when you're going to different rooms to test the cable you've run through the walls and then have to test another shorter cable. Both the main unit and remote will tell you if it passed or not, another nice feature that other testers might not have. My only complaint and the reason for 4 instead of 5 is that what each digit stands for is not printed on the device. For example, if all the lights come on but one, you need to find and open the manual to see which pin is broken. It doesn't matter because if something goes wrong you usually replace the entire cable, but it would still be nice to know. I solved this problem by copying this part of the manual and pasting it to the back of the tester.
