Review on Plaskolite 1PC0810A 093 Lexan Sheet by Adam Browning

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's easier to work with and less toxic smell than other (or unnamed) brands

I have to say that working with any type of acrylic can be tricky without (and sometimes even with) the right tools , but this brand is actually not that bad. I was able to cut, heat and shape the material more successfully than other acrylic brands I've worked with. Another plus I have to mention is that the smell is EVERYWHERE like the horrible toxic smell of some other brands I've used. Overall this is the brand I will return to when I need acrylic for various projects. Pros: - It's fairly easy to work with if you cut/score it - The toxic smell isn't nearly as bad as some other brands of acrylic. - Bonds well with JB Weld Plastic Epoxy and JB Weld Plastic Putty - Fairly easy to shape with a heat gun if you pay attention to the frame). Cons: - There is some outgassing, as with any plastic - Works with plastic. Any plastic is always difficult to work with, so make sure you have the right tools for the job. Suggestion: - If you're using a jigsaw to cut stuff, I highly recommend using blades like Bosh Clear Perspex. . Made for acrylic and other plastics, they are VERY comfortable and allow you to get nice, even cuts. Find them here at Revain: Bosch T102BF 3-5/8" X 13-Tpi, T-Shank Clean-Cut for Plexiglas Reciprocating Saw Blade, 3-Pack
