Review on πŸ—„οΈ Retrofit Drawers Adapter by Rok Hardware by Brent Porter

Revainrating 4 out of 5

An acceptable aftermarket solution with a few caveats.

My son installed these and liked them so I decided to buy them for 24 kitchen drawers. They are easy to install with care. They are relatively inexpensive. There are a few small gatehouses. The tiny flange on the front of the part that attaches to the wall inside the cabinet breaks off very easily, so you'll have to line them up without it. It's easy to do. In fact, several of mine broke before I took them out of the box, but they break even with careful handling. A more serious issue is that the screw holes in the same part, the actual soft-close mechanism, are too small for the included screws. This means you have to thread the plastic with a screw before or during screwing it to the case. If you then press the device firmly against the wall of the closet, you'll have to force those threads to break free to complete the assembly. My son warned me about this and he was right. Because of this, I pre-drilled the holes I wanted to use with a #26 (.147") drill bit and the installation went smoothly. The manufacturer should fix this problem.

Pros
  • GENTLE CLOSURE: This soft-close adapter guarantees gentle, rattle-free closing at optimum speed at all times. Thanks to the high-strength soft-closing piston.
