Review on 🏞️ Seachem Onyx Sand Fluorite Substrate by Amanda Johnston

So very dusty. for fish and aquatic animals

I would only recommend use in a brand new aquarium where you can work for about a week before adding any stocking material (plants or fish) with a high filter mix flow using polishing pad or foam and occasional agitation. I washed it about an hour before putting it in the aquarium; even after that there was an incredible amount of dust. It covered all the plants I had planted in a fairly thick layer. It has a beautiful gray color and looks very high quality. I wanted to grow an aquarium with gobies, which is also under construction, but since they are burrowers, I'm concerned that the dust settling in the layers of sand might be too strong. Unfortunately, I can only recommend this to a limited extent in aquariums without bottom dwellers or in a pure plant arrangement.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Slightly dented
