Review on BOSCH TS1007 Dado Insert: Enhance Your Woodworking Performance with this Red Insert by Jay Campbell

The slotted insert I received was aluminum not plastic as the description would suggest so I was pleasantly surprised. It fits my 4000 saw perfectly except for the washer that comes with the insert. The washer provided with the kit is designed for a mandrel into which flats will be cut. My early saw's mandrel is round, so I couldn't use a shim when stacking up to 3/4". Instead, I had to swap out the standard outer shim for an inner one and use a non-nut shim. It worked, though certainly not perfect for blade stability.I plan on gently sanding flat surfaces to a round profile with the included shim.Overall I'm very happy with the quality of the part for the price with the exception of this small issue.
