    Lots of bugs but works fine. Must be for setting up Dado. Owners of 4000 saws read the details in these reviews.

    Others have already covered the main points. The insert is metal, not plastic. It comes with a shim which is not designed for the 4000 table saw, but the question arises as the 4000 requires the inner stabilizing washer to be completely removed and the outer stabilizing washer to be used as the INNER shim. DO NOT install the washer from the outside. Just a nut! This works and aligns the dado widestack with the insert. The instructions do not contain any information on previous use of the 4000…

    I had a Craftman table saw for many years and loved it but due to a lot of extra work to renovate a new house it died. I looked around the shops and found this Bosch on Revain, there was nothing in local sources. The delivery time was reasonable, the table saw turned out much better than I expected.     Worked great but the washer didn't fit my 4000 saw.

    The slotted insert I received was aluminum not plastic as the description would suggest so I was pleasantly surprised. It fits my 4000 saw perfectly except for the washer that comes with the insert. The washer provided with the kit is designed for a mandrel into which flats will be cut. My early saw's mandrel is round, so I couldn't use a shim when stacking up to 3/4". Instead, I had to swap out the standard outer shim for an inner one and use a non-nut shim.     The damn thing wasn't flat. solution pending.

    Benefits: Perfect for the slot of the Bosch 4100 table saw. Very stiff metal plate due to molded reinforcement underneath. Adjustment screws worked as they should. Fast delivery. Cons: The stuffed plate was not flat. It was slightly convex (humped). As the workpiece passed the slot cutter, the leading edge caught the trailing edge of the open slot. Of the 15 pieces, 15 are hanging. Not good. Not sure. Ironically, due to its inherent rigidity, I couldn't encourage its flatness - it's so durable.

    I've had this male insert for about 9 months now and I've finally reached the end and felt the need to write a review. Overall I am very satisfied with the products from Bosch; Their power tools are first class and of high quality. Considering their typical tool quality, it's all the more surprising that this product is complete crap. For months I have been trying to level it using the leveling screws that came with the baseboard board. It never leveled and was always out of sync. Ultimately…
