The only way to hear what I'm filming is to plug headphones directly into the Ripsaw HD. On the old Ripsaw, you could output audio to the desktop and then record audio from the desktop and listen through the default device. It took some fiddling with the connection settings, but it worked. It looks like Ripsaw HD has removed this workaround along with the ability to mess around with video settings at all, as the workaround no longer gives you any sound. In short, the sound will not be passed even if you output it to the desktop. I guess I'll wait until someone finds a new workaround before this thing becomes useful. *Update: 07/14/2019* I have troubleshooted several times with Razer Support. (customer support is great). Unfortunately nothing worked. The capture card recognized audio and output audio through the 3.5mm jack on the front of the unit, but did not pass audio through to the PC. In the end we decided to send in/exchange the device as defective. Good. It's a shame, but if it fixes the problem then it's ok. I just installed the Ripsaw HD replacement and it has the exact same issue. Audio is not transferred to the PC. Unfortunately at this point I have come to the conclusion that it is either a design flaw or there are several defective units in stock. I do not recommend this capture card and I regret to report it.
