I've been looking for a mattress topper that doesn't contain plastic or a water repellent treatment for a long time. I do NOT want my kids to inhale chemicals all night while they sleep. And frankly, since every crib's mattress is covered in plastic, what's the point of a waterproof pad? We went to great lengths to keep our kids away from all of those chemicals, including a special mattress cover (to protect against exhaust fumes) and a nice thick wool pad that I wanted to put on. We simply place some wool pads between the topper and the mattress topper to keep the topper from getting wet and we're good to go. I recommend this product to any waterproof pad.
