At first I put it upright and it leaked all over the handle. It's a mess. Then I pushed it into the sink on the side. These styles - fill them with soap so they go into the sponge - will leak. That's how they work. Put a little dish soap on any sponge and hold it over the sink long enough for the dish soap to seep through the sponge. If not, THEN you have a problem. The soap does not flow freely until all soap is drained from this cleaner as I have seen other leaks. If you suck it on the inside wall of the sink, the soap will not flow down the handle.
