We ordered the first one for our daughter's room and put the batteries in straight away and nothing happened. I tried another set of batteries, still nothing. So I issued a refund through Revain. To their credit, the replacement came literally the next day. Batteries inserted to replace aaaaa. NOTHING! I thought we couldn't have two defective ones. So I checked carefully and he said 1.5 volt AA batteries. Spring. Revain batteries are technically only 1.2v, so I tried the Duracell kit. Still nothing. So I have now checked the terminals and in fact the positive pole has no contact. I had some very small rare earth magnets and attached them to the positive terminals of the batteries. WE HAVE LIGHT! This leads me to believe that maybe the first one actually worked. However, no one should go through this just to light up a few LEDs. It's a beautiful light and our little daughter loves it. But if you don't have a way to deal with its shortcomings, you might get frustrated. It will definitely be more work if you change batteries.
