Review on πŸ”§ Upgraded Hitachi/Metabo HPT C10RJ Table Saw Dado Table Insert (Part #371663) by Daniel Woods

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Doesn't have a spring locking mechanism like the original insert (SEE PHOTO)

Tried to find this part number (371663, Hitachi Dado table insert) at the store I bought the saw from Hitachi website without Happiness. A general search for part numbers on the internet was also unsuccessful. The only one I found was a Revain with the Hitachi name, job site saw number (C10RJ) and the Hitachi part number listed in the saw's owner's manual. However, there weren't any photos on Revain, so I wanted to include some of them for others. It fits the table saw, but has a metal "friction clip" instead of the spring-loaded latch of the original table insert. It took some effort to pull it back out and I bent the metal clip a bit and had to bend it back. Side by side they look the same in production and quality (weight, stiffness etc) but may just be a good copy (see photo). It's made in China by Koki (HiKOKI?) Holdings Co and states that it's "compatible with Hitachi Power Tools and Metabo HPT tools". Haven't used it with my DeWalt Dado blades yet but looks like it will work fine. I gave it 4 stars because it didn't have the original locking mechanism that I expected and wasn't sure how strong that little clip would be. It was delivered quickly and was reasonably priced at $22.39. I'm not sure if Hitachi makes their own or if this is the one Hitachi will sell you if you can find it elsewhere.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
