This birdhouse is cute but very rough and splintered - not ready to paint; The wood is badly sanded. Small pieces of wood fly away every time I touch it. The one I received is also broken: the perch hole was drilled very close to the ground, and there is a crack in the wood between the hole and the ground. birdhouse. The worst thing is that the perch doesn't fit in the hole at all - the hole is too small! (Maybe they stopped drilling when the wood split!?) I like the hinged bottom with the latch, but it doesn't fit well and the latch is difficult to close. The structural problem is that the "roof" doesn't extend even a millimeter beyond the hole or pole. Had to send back due to hole fault.
