Review on πŸ”΄ Noctua NF-A6x25 FLX: Premium 60mm Brown Quiet Fan - 3-Pin for Optimal Cooling by Brian Inman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best in class for Computers and Accessories

I'm tired of the tiny high-speed fan on the PNY GT 730 card in my HTPC, so I decided to upgrade since there was a lot of space around it. I took out this fan, installed rubber anti-vibration pins on a new Noctua fan, glued the pins to the heatsink and connected it to ULNA. Results? I can no longer hear hissing from the card! I stress tested it with Furmark to push it beyond realistic usage, and temperatures with the Noctua low-speed fan (74Β°C) were only 5Β°C warmer than the PNY high-speed fan (69 Β°C), which is well within the limits of the GT730! I have used many high end fans of all sizes in the past but this is definitely one of the best. The rotor is perfectly balanced, the motor doesn't make the resonant noise you often hear from cheaper fans, the bearing runs silently, and the airflow sound quality is smooth. If you want to make your PC nice and quiet, you can't go wrong with Noctua!

Pros
  • Includes anti-vibration mounts, fan screws, low-noise and ultra-low-noise adapters, extension cables, and 3:4 pin adapter to power the fan directly from the power supply supply
Cons
  • Out of fashion
