Received the package a few days ago and have sharpened 6 knives so far. The stone has a few chips from shipping in a thin plastic sleeve with no cushion in brown packaging. Soaked in water for 24 hours as I saw in the tutorial video on YouTube. I've sharpened 2 Shun chef's knives, a Buck fillet knife, a Rapala fillet knife, and a 6" Dexterr skinning knife, as well as my Benchmark pocket knife. Right now they are razor sharp after about 5 minutes on each knife, first with the 1000 grit side and then the 6000 grit side. I ended up using a diamond steel shank to remove any burrs or imperfections in the blade. The stones work as advertised although they appear a little brittle, I made a few cuts on the stone 6000 ago when the blades weren't exactly at right angles. I'll see how these go. Apparently the best edge I've gotten with my Washita stones. The size of the stones in length and width is very good, I can pull the whole blade through it and they are strong enough to apply some pressure. The plastic holder is raised to keep your hands and blade clear of the tabletop. So far, so good.
