Most toilets are made for residential buildings. Today they have a very narrow base and are supported by two studs in a PLASTIC flange which is bolted to the floor and sub-floor under the toilet with a couple of screws. These flanges are very prone to cracking/breaking. This product makes the base more stable and reduces the pressure on the bolt/plastic flange area. I had a crack in the flange and the manufacturers OEM flange was taped with PVC and there was no way for me to detach the plastic flange without dropping the tank from below after cutting the flange at the top and repairing the piping had SCREW could be inserted. Flange. Thanks TOR! So I bought a metal flanged repair panel, bolted it to the floor over an existing partially broken fixed plastic flange, bought a toilet riser and installed it over the increased thickness of the added metal panel. After cutting off a small piece of plastic on the riser to add a new metal plate, I bolted on the toilet and it is better and stronger than the OEM. The riser allows for movement loading by spreading the user's weight over a larger area of the riser. 4 stars because I want them to do this with the higher flange height under the riser.
