I bought this holder to use with my wireless microphones (AKG and Senheiser). Both taper from 1" at the base to 1-1/2" at the top. When the item arrived I tried on the size and it was too small. I dropped the mount in boiling water for about 3 minutes (with the burner off) and then dried it. At this point it was nice and flexible and fit easily around wireless mics, so I put it on top of one of them and let it cool for about 1/2 hour. It has hardened and is now perfect for microphones. I gave it 4 stars because the instructions should have said something about it and also the thread is plastic which breaks easily. However, I can't complain about the price as mic mounts cost around $40.
